A Simplified User Experience for Museum Art Students

The studio art supply list system that A/MFA had been using was based on pdf and digital 'zine' technology. Students were expected to navigate a document of over 60 pages of supply lists for every art classes taught at the museum. Next, ordering supplies from one of three vendors proved challenging since each vendor had different supply availability. Adding to the overall pain of the registration before the class had even started. Over time, this user experience had become overwhelming, antiquated and very confusing for new students.

e developed a custom interface that new art students could find their art class, download a supply list and order their supplies from the preferred vendors. Deliverables included art class supply lists with embedded links to art supply vendors. The case study below showcases the challenges and successes of the entire project.
